The third school of the international project L4H.

The final third school of the LIGHT4HEALTH international project, implemented under the Erasmus + Strategic Partnership grant program, is being held from March 19 to May 5, 2021. The main research topic is the impact of lighting on human health in healthcare environments.

The third summer school completes the cycle of L4H consortium partners’ meetings, which includes the world's leading universities and European schools in the field of architectural lighting design. Among the participants are Aalborg University (Denmark), Hochschule Wismar (Germany), KTH Royal Institute (Sweden), ITMO University (Russia), Thomas Jefferson University (USA), University of Wolverhampton (UK). Aalborg University in Copenhagen acts as the host university.

Just like in 2020, L4H educational programs are being held online in the form of international groups consisting of participants from each of universities. Students are given access to pre-recorded lectures and are able to remotely communicate with experts from various universities.

During practical seminars the participants are learning to gather, analyze and interpret the collected data. To study the layouts they are given 4 rooms - a patient room, a waiting room/waiting area, a nurses’ station and physiotherapy room. Lighting analysis will be carried out taking into account the perception characteristics of various user groups: children, youth, elderly people.

The learning process for the third school takes six weeks and is divided into five training modules. Students will learn about new daylight standards and its assessment, explore dynamic and interactive lighting in healthcare facilities.

During the fifth module each group will develop its own lighting concept for the four teaching modules which are based on four 3d models. The fifth module will end with a final presentation of group projects.
